This service has become very popular lately. As the threat of viruses becomes prevalent, the need for up-to-date Microsoft Windows software and anti-virus software becomes more critical.
Through our travels we have found that many credit unions do not have a handle on what it takes to keep this all in order. Some credit unions have a network administrator that helps them with this and others do not. Even when there is a network administrator involved we have found that these items are not always taken care of. Sometimes the administrator has enough on their plates with adding hardware and keeping all the other pieces and parts going that the software becomes an after thought.
LAN Management was designed to assist with this problem. It has also become an integral part of many credit unions’ Patch Policies. CUC, Inc. takes care of the management of Microsoft Windows and anti-virus packages via the VPN.
The CUC, Inc. LAN Management Service provides a worry free method to keep your network up-to-date and safe from viruses and spy-ware. All available Operating System and Antivirus software updates are executed on each network workstation, as well as, all base updates for Windows and the Antivirus software. All network workstations are also reviewed, with installations performed when available, for miscellaneous updates such as Java and Microsoft Office. As part of the CUC, Inc. LAN Management Service the status of your Credit Union’s Sonicwall VPN Router is monitored through extensive review of the firewall logs, and the Sonicwall’s firmware is updated as often as updates are published. Monthly, the Credit Union will receive comprehensive reports detailing any updates performed on the Operating System and Antivirus software, in addition to the current status of each workstations Antivirus software.
