The DRIVER screen is the starting and ending place for the teller day. It is broken into four distinct parts. Each of these parts has a separate presentation assigned to it on the previous menu. When you are finished here, please take some time to review each piece in more detail.
The first section of the screen is the transaction processing pane. It provides you with a place to process withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments from one convenient screen.
The first field is for your security code. The security code is a three character identifier that separates you from other tellers. It can be made up of either numbers or letters or even a combination of each. It should not be your initials, which we call your Teller ID, due to the fact that your initials will print on each receipt, on a member’s history, and in reports used by management.
The next field is the transaction code field. The transaction code is a 3 to 4 character code that is assigned to each type of transaction. Most of the codes are very easy to remember. They are normally a part of the process name. For instance… a share deposit cash would be SDCA. A share deposit check would be SDCH. For loan payments just replace the SD (share deposit) to LP for (loan payment). This field can be used in many different manners. You can just key in the code if you know them by heart. The codes are alphabetized so that even if you don’t know them by heart the system will search for you. Just key in the first letter and it will bring up the first code that starts with that letter. Key in the next letter and it will narrow the search for you.
Or you could just look at the drop down list, that contains the codes and definitions, and select the item you desire straight from the list.
