Client Appreciation Conference, Aires Files, and a Virus Alert

2010 Client Appreciation Conference Information
It’s just about that time! For those of you that are interested in going to the 2010 Client Appreciation Conference, here’s your friendly reminder to start making your arrangements! This year’s Conference is being held at the Hyatt Hotel in Savannah, Georgia, and it will take place on April 22nd and 23rd (a Thursday and Friday).

Important Reminder About Your Aires Files
As you’re probably well aware, Auditors generally like to see your credit union’s AIRES files when they come to visit. We just wanted to send this friendly reminder about the importance of keeping a copy of your monthly AIRES files. Whether you decide to keep these files in a folder on your PC, a diskette, or even a USB flash drive, it is important to keep a copy of every month’s SHARE and LOAN files. Not placing a copy of the files to another location will cause them to be overwritten when the next month end process takes place.

Virus Alert
In recent weeks, CUC has noticed an increase in viruses on client workstations. Most are due to browsing social networking sites and others have been related to browsing banking sites that are fraudulent. As computer users, we make assumptions that virus scanning software and personal data protection software is infallible. A good idea is to reiterate to your staff that machines in the Credit Union are for the purpose of serving the members. Due to the sensitivity of the data collected and maintained, any breach of that data to an outside source could have a devastating affect on your members’ personal information, not to mention a loss of confidence in your institution.
